Just a few items to share round here:
Starting with The Good… my sweetie proved he’s up to the sweetest of sweets by making this scrumptious Apple Galette. Lovely butter pastry filled with a mixture of apples, currants and dried apricots and glazed with reduced apricot jam. Yum!
It is from one of his favorite cookbooks, Julia and Jacques Cooking at Home by Julia Child and Jacques Pepin. Here’s a link to their recipe for Apple Galette as posted on GMA.
Now for The Bad… 🙁
A few weeks ago, Rick took me out to the flying field at the edge of the Great Salt Lake and we took two of his planes with us. The red and white plane is a Citabria, which was the first scale plane he built when he rekindled his earlier love of radio controlled plane building and flying. The white, blue and green plane is a Venture 60.
Unfortunately the Citabria developed a handling problem while in flight and this was the result of a sudden crash landing.
Fortunately, “He can rebuild it – He has the technology!” This will be an unanticipated “winter project” for my sweet. This also illustrates the joke- “What’s the first thing you should do after a crash? – Hang up your cell phone!” Maybe when it is rebuilt he’ll give the pilot a headset instead of a cell phone. 🙂
To round it all out here’s The Snuggly bit…
I went home for lunch on a cold rainy day last week and I put a blanket around me since we keep the house a bit chillier during the working day. Kipling – “The Jungle Cat” jumped up beside me and took over my blanket. He’d been out during the morning and I guess he was cold. I tucked it around him when I left and when I returned several hours later this is what I found…
My own little kitten BRRR-ito!
That’s what’s been happening around this little house.
xoxo
Thanks Miss Scarlett- love the name BTW!
I’ll pass the kudos on to Rick. Wishing you a happy 2008!
SO CUTE – my kitty does the same thing. Her favorite “blanket” is my hubby’s shirts. That Galette looks magnificent too!
